After only experiencing the food and shopping life of Lima, we now are heading right into the sightseeing part.
With a little bit too much avocado π₯ and some not so tasty cheesy bread balls for breakfast, our first destination is… the pharmacy π₯
Christian got a bit of throat pain, probably from the long flight. But it was our opportunity to shine bright with our spanish knowledge. And as we really tried hard we accomplished one thing: Some cough sirup π But nevermind, let’s start the city adventure!
John F. Kennedy Park was right around the corner in Miraflores and our hearts beat faster as we saw the many cats lying and walking around right in this beautiful area. π± Also the nice church and some people dancing around caught our eye. Of course we had to take the Insta360 OneX out for a walk to get some first video footage and photos!
Next up we took the metropolitan bus to get us in 20 minutes to the government district. Sadly there was some kind of demonstration planned, so the police closed down the Plaza de Arma completely. But we got some impressions of the hectic city life and the nice colonial buildings.
After walking around a bit we also got into a more market area where Christian of course had to try some local food.
Yes, you can really get cheap food! We got some “Papa con huevo“, so just a potato with egg with some salsa for just under 1β¬. ππ₯π₯π
To end our first sightseeing tour we came back to Miraflores to get some really overpriced churros: One filled with chocolate and one filled with dulce de leche, really delicious! π
This first impressions showed us quite the big diversity of the city of Lima, because the government district was really different from the high society Miraflores part.
