Mornings in the jungle
With jungle noises, not much sleep and some blurry images of crocodiles in our heads, we started into the second day. But all excited and strenghtened by a heavy breakfast (fried fish and bananas), these images faded away pretty quickly.
The early morning already hold some surprises for us! Alex quickly pointed out that there are otters right nearby. As they are one of our favorite animals we were really happy to see them gather fish! πππ
After this happy coincidence we got into the canoe to chase the otters down the river. On our way we saw even more than on the first day. Different monkeys, more otters, a lot of birds and some scared small turtles jumping into the river when we passed by. The wildlife was really flourishing this morning! π΅π¦π’
Luxury in the jungle?

As the sun was burning hotter and hotter we were happy to reach the next cabin for lunch. During the preparation of our meal, Alex showed us the first time how to fish piranhas. It was really exciting as we both never fished before. But don’t expect fishing equipment…We just used a stick with some thread and a hook on the other side. π But it totally worked! π
Enjoying our lunch (rice, rice, rice π ) we got to know some other tourists and our accommodation for tonight. This place was even more simple then the last one. But we wanted the total jungle experience so we wouldn’t complain! π

Now it was time to relax and as it was still so very hot, we decided to get some refreshment from the brownish river water. Yes it sounds and looked a bit gross but when you are sweaty and sticky all over you wouldn’t complain. π
In the afternoon we were heading out to finally see more river dolphins. Alex didn’t promise too much! The place he took us to was really swarming with dolphins. We saw them left and right of our canoe! πΆπ¬ We were also able to see their pink color as they were sometimes jumping a bit higher outside the water. An amazing view! They even followed us on our way back.
Crocodile hunt
The night was closing in and so the long awaited second canoe trip to see even bigger crocodiles. That was what Alex told us all day as he was still mocking us a bit about being scared on the first day! ππ±
But it all came different then we expected…We went out into the darkness again and saw the first crocodiles really fast. But then Alex suddenly just went deep into the bushes. He reached for a baby crocodile and gave it to us and finally all the scaryness was gone as it was really cute and an awesome experience to hold it! πβΊοΈ Of course we still have a lot of respect for these mysterious and beautiful animals! And that they have really power in their bodies was shown to us as we were heading back.

Alex of course had to scare us a bit in the end. And so he got really really close to a bigger crocodile and lifted it up with his paddle…You can imagine that the crocodile didn’t like this too much! So in the moment we could see almost the whole body it suddenly moved and splashed us heavenly with a lot of water!
Happy and a bit wet we found ourselves in the cabin on the floor to finally get some more sleep after this long exciting day. π΄π
