First check-in

First steps first: Checking in our flights in Munich.

We already booked our first flight to Lima with a stopover in Bogota in May with no flight back.

But since we also read that there are a few countries, including Peru, which are strict about immigration, or proof of leaving the country again, and we did not know when we will leave or where we will go to next, we looked for options to avoid any troubles. The airlines are held responsible for checking and making sure that the people they get into the country will leave again.

So we booked a random ticket for a flight futher on in advance.

While checking into our “real” flight with Avianca, the woman at the desk really asked us about any flight back or connecting flights. Luckily we informed us in advance that that can happen and so we showed her our booking confirmation for our random flight to Atlanta booked over bestonwardflights! These tickets cost 12 dollars and are valid for 48 hours.

Of course our answer to her question “Do you already have ESTA ready to travel to the US” was “Yes, yes of course, everything is ready!” πŸ˜…

After 12 hours in a plane from Avianca Airlines, we were really happy to finally reach Bogota and got off.

To get to our connecting flight to Lima, we of course had to go through security check again. πŸ™„

After arriving from Munich, we did not think much about it and were a little lost with all the spanish πŸ˜„

But they were quite strict and took a small lighter and Magda’s little (really little!) nail file! πŸ˜…

Luckily we made it, and finally got to walk around a bit, before the next 3 hours in another plane off to Lima!
