We left the coast of Peru heading deeper midlands to the Amazon! We took another night bus by Movil Tours, going all the way from Trujillo to Chachapoyas.
Only about 14 hours (!) 😴 later, we arrived in the capital of the Amazon region. The city is situated in the mountains at an elevation of around 2,300 meters. ⛰️
Nearby adventures and hikers (like we totally are 😅) can discover hidden treasures like large waterfalls and pre-Columbian, pre-Inca ruins.
For the first two days we decided to take things slow, as we felt the altitude. It felt a bit weird in the head and it was harder to breathe. But to get acclimated (which only takes 1 – 2 days) you should just take it easy and stay hydrated. Now we are ready for the adventures ahead!
